Being a mom

If you know me very well- you've heard me say how much I love being a Mom. Its true. I really do. When my kids were all small and sweet I used to look at them and reply- 'wow they can't all be mine- where is their natural mother?!'

As I've watched Mandy mother Smoochy I get a heart full of memories that come flooding back. The diapers, the diaper bag, wipes. bottles, sippy's, Blankys, hugs, books, wiping, bathing, feeding and the beautiful poems and crayon art! When you're in it - it feels like they will never grow up and then one day you wake up and the house is quiet. Too quiet...and quiet most of the time.

With only 2 left at home and both teens, the quiet time is in the mornings- friday night girl parties can be noisy. Your car tends to be more noisy. I still love being a mom. I'm a mom with older children. I'm glad there isn't a graduation from being a mom. Its a great calling, one I'd never trade!
